CHRISTIAN SCOTT COLEMAN HAS ARRIVED!!!

THE BIRTH STORY

So, I went into false labor on Tuesday July 28th (pictured above).  Contractions started at about 4:30am and pretty much didn't stop, so we went to the hospital at about 10am.  I go in, and they send me right home considering I made no progress at all.  I went back home, walked for a few hours and then the contractions ended at 4:30pm that same day.

Wednesday July 29th comes along and nothing!  I go to the doctor for my regular appointment to find I'm still not really dilated at all.  Of course, knowing me, I cried right there on the table as Evann looks at me like, "Why are you crying?!?!?"  I was just so emotional and went through all of that for nothing!

The morning of Thursday July 30thmy official due date, I just woke up with a feeling that it would either be that day if not the next.  So I ended up having sporadic contractions and noticed they were about every hour or two, then towards 10pm that night, they began to pic up and were about 30 minutes....then 20 minutes... 10 minutes.  By about 2am, I was in PAIN!!!!  Contractions were coming inconsistently but ranged between every 4-7 minutes.  At 5am, my mom and Evann were awake and probably our whole apartment bu idling was too!  I was crying and ready to  head to the hospital.

At this point it is Friday July 31st at 5:30am, we arrive to the hospital, get checked....I'm about 1 centimeter still!!!!  I had the breakdown of my life!  The nurses called my doctor and she told them to have me walk for 2 hours.  So I did and walked through every contraction while Christian was pressing SO HARD on my bladder!  After 2 hours of walking, I was checked and finally told I was 3 centimeters and would then be admitted!  Talk about tears again!  Of course I cried my eyes out, but this time from happiness!

Once I was admitted, they pretty much offered me the epidural right away and of course I took it!  After waiting, sleeping, waiting, around 5pm, I was dilated to 7 centimeters, but the baby was up in my ribs, facing up towards the sky (they should be face down and headed down the birth canal by then).  So around 5:45pm, my doctor arrived back to the hospital and gave all the staff the go ahead to start to prep me for a c-section.  At this point, I was so tired and just ready for it to be over with!  I was at peace with the decision and wanted what was best for my baby.

At 6:20pm, I was given more epidural medication (I started to feel my contractions again) and began to shake uncontrollably!  It was crazy!  I was really scared as well, I couldn't help it!  As they rolled me into the Operating Room, I saw clouds painted on the ceiling, my anesthesiologist behind me, and my wonderful husband walks in to sit right next to me.  Next thing I know, I hear the doctor say, "You're going to feel a little pressure."  Two seconds later, I hear the wonderful noise of crying from my little one and I hear Evann say, "He looks just like you!"  I just smiled through my crazy shaking and they showed him to me for a hot second and I kinda don't remember much from then!

Christian Scott Coleman was born Friday July 31, 2009.  He weighed 7 pounds even, 20 1/2 inches long, apgar score of 9,9.  He is absolutely perfect!!!!

Here are all the long awaited pics!
